What should I do when my thin section bearing makes abnormal noise?

Feb 07, 2023
The internal structure of thin section crossed cylindrical roller bearings adopts the arrangement of rollers vertically crossed at 90°, and a single bearing can simultaneously withstand the joint action of radial force, bi-directional axial force, and tilting moment. Installing shims or spacers between the rollers can prevent the rollers from tilting or the rollers from grinding against each other and effectively prevent the increase of friction torque. In addition, the structure of vertical cross-arrangement of the rollers can avoid the phenomenon of roller clamping; at the same time, because the inner and outer rings of the bearing are separated and the clearance is adjustable, even if pressure is applied, high rotational accuracy can be obtained. With light structure and good performance, crossed roller bearings are mainly used in the shoulders, waists, and hips of robotic arms and key robots.

The cause of abnormal noise of thin section crossed cylindrical roller bearings
(1) bearing inside and outside the raceway collision, abrasion, or serious defects caused by the periodic vibration pulse.
(2)Non-periodic vibration pulse caused by defects such as rolling element surface bumps and scratches.
(3)The periodic or non-periodic vibration pulse caused by the residual magnetic adsorption iron powder on the rolling track or rolling body.
(4) impurities and dust into the working area of the bearing track caused by irregular vibration.
(5) roller and keep frame hole violent collision generated by non-periodic vibration pulse.
(6)Poor lubricating oil performance, roller, and cage punch hole sliding friction, roller operation rolling lubricant vibration pulse.

Handling of abnormal noise of thin section crossed cylindrical roller bearings
1. Huge harsh metal noise
(1) abnormal load: correct the assembly, adjust the bearing clearance and load, and correct the shell shoulder position;
(2) poor installation: shaft and shell machining accuracy, improve the installation accuracy and method;
(3) Insufficient or unsuitable lubricant: replenish the lubricant and choose the suitable lubricant;
(4)Rotating parts contact: Modify the contact part of the bending seal.

2. Noise with gauge rate
(1)Indentation, rusting, or scarring of the rolling surface caused by foreign matter: Replace bearing, clean related parts, improve the sealing device, and use clean lubricant;
(2) surface deformation (after steel carburization): replace the bearing, pay attention to the use;
(3)Stripped raceway surface: replace the bearing.

3. Irregular noise
(1)Excessive clearance: Study the fit and bearing clearance, and correct the preload;
