Types and Applications of Angular Contact Ball Bearings

Jul 04, 2022
What is Angular Contact Ball Bearing?
Angular contact ball bearings are the common type of ball bearings, they belong to ball bearings in rolling bearings, which can withstand radial and axial loads at the same time.
Angular contact ball bearings can work at relatively high speeds, and the larger the contact angle, the higher the axial load carrying capacity.
The contact angle of an angular contact ball bearing is the angle between the line connecting the contact points of the ball and the raceway in the radial plane and the vertical line of the bearing axis. High-precision and high-speed bearings usually take a 15°contact angle. Under the action of axial force, the contact angle will increase.
Types and Applications of Angular Contact Ball Bearings

Types of Angular Contact Ball Bearing

There are three types of angular contact ball bearings: Single row angular contact ball bearings, double row angular contact ball bearings and four point contact ball bearings.
Single row angular contact ball bearings have two structures: separable and nonseparable, because of more balls in bearings, high loading capacity and stiffness can be gained.Metal solid cages are mainly used in single-row angular contact ball bearings. Phenolic cloth laminated tube solid cages are usually used for high speed applications, and the maximum temperature of this bearing is 120℃.
Double row angular contact ball bearings correspond to a pair of single row angular contact ball bearings mounted back to back, but the width is narrower. Therefore, they are especially suitable for applications required high stiffness.Nylon or brass solid cages are generally used in double row angular contact ball bearings.
Four point contact ball bearings can carry axial loads in two directions and certain moment loads, and have the features of single row and double row angular contact ball bearings. They only can work normally in high speed when two point contact is formed. Brass or aluminium solid cages are exactly suitable for four point contact ball bearings.

Applications of Angular Contact Ball Bearing

Single row angular contact ball bearings are mainly used in machine tool spindles, high frequency motors, gas turbines, centrifugal separators, front wheel of small car, differential pinion shaft, etc.
Double row angular contact ball bearings are mainly used in oil pumps, roots blower, air compressor, fuel injection pump, printing machinery, and various of transmission, etc.
Four point contact ball bearings are mainly used in woodworking machinery, textile machinery drive shafts, vertical seat spherical bearings, etc.

Where to Find the Best Angular Contact Ball Bearing
Luoyang Huigong Bearing Technology Co.,Ltd (CHG)was established in 1998. It is a professional bearing company mainly engaged in design, development, manufacture and sales service for various bearings. Angular contact ball bearings are our main product.
With the customer satisfaction as the goal and with the strict quality control as the product protection, CHG researchers have developed many types of high precision, high performance and high quality bearings. Currently, the products have been widely used in industrial robotics, aviation, aerospace, national defense, medical equipment, radar antennas, optical device and other fields, and have won the praises from customers.

CHG Bearing:Bearings for wind turbines
Apr 16, 2024
Blade bearings are used to connect blades with hubs in MW wind turbines, and they also can adjust the windward direction of blades to ensure electricity production with power rating and the safe work of wind turbines. Usually, single or double rows four-point contact ball slewing bearings are used as blade bearings, which have preload, special designed seals, anticorrosion surfaces, etc.
CHG Bearing:The lifespan of bearings
Mar 28, 2024
The bearing life refers to the number of revolutions or hours experienced by the bearing before the occurrence of pitting under a certain load. The life of rolling bearings is usually defined by the number of revolutions or the number of hours worked at a certain speed. During this lifespan, no initial fatigue damage (such as spalling or defects) should occur on any bearing ring or rolling element.
Assembly and disassembly of tapered roller bearings
Mar 21, 2024
Tapered roller bearings can be mounted directly on a tapered shaft or on a cylindrical shaft through an adapter sleeve or withdrawal sleeve. A tight fit is obtained by axially moving the inner ring. The tight fit of the inner ring can be effectively controlled by measuring the reduction in radial clearance caused by the expansion of the inner ring.
Four row tapered roller bearings
Mar 14, 2024
It usually consists of two double-row inner rings, a double-row outer ring and two single outer rings. There is an inner spacer ring between the two inner rings, and there are two middle spacer rings between the three outer rings. Such a design The bearing can adjust the clearance to adapt to different working conditions.
